Tables of Essential Clinical
Laboratory Statistics
Welcome to the 2005 Edition of Essential Clinical Laboratory Statistics
presented by David G. Rhoads Associates, Inc. (Rhoads). Two sets of tables
are currently available:
Age-based Reference Intervals
Charts and Tables by Sex and Age,
estimated by Rhoads Associates from NHANES III (a national survey of
34,000 subjects conducted during 1988-94).
Allowable Total Error
The Allowable Total Error Table is drawn from
eight sources: CLIA '88, College of
American Pathologists (CAP), Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene,
Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health, American
Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), the
Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Australasian Clincal
Biochemist association Quality Assurance Program, Canadian Fixed limits
from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, and the 2004
update of the Spanish Society of Clinical Chemistry and Molecular
Pathology (SEQC) table of Desirable Quality Specifications based on
Biological Variation.
We also have separate, abbreviated, tables for
just the CLIA '88 Limits, and just the Biological
Variation Limits
Published Reference Intervals
The Reference Interval Table
lists reference intervals for adult and pediatric humans and
several species of animals. Sources:

Center of Dallas (2000)
- Oklahoma State University Animal Reference Range
Values (1996)

Disclaimer
Although Rhoads is making its best efforts to ensure that the published
values accurately represent the original data from which they were
obtained, Rhoads cannot guarantee that the numbers are accurate, or in
fact, even meaningful. Use them at your own risk!
We have tried to place the most important or reliable data near the top
of the list. Broad groups of data will have similar importance. In most
cases, user-contributed data will appear at the end of the list. The
position of an item in the list does not guarantee that it will be
accurate or even useful to you. That decision is left to your own
professional opinion.

hold harmless to any liability either direct or indirect, all those
contributing to this work. Those contributing to this work include, but
are not limited to: David G. Rhoads Associates, Inc. (Rhoads), Rhoads'
employees and contractors, editors of this database, and those
contributing data to this database. |
